This is a 3 day 2 night canoe trip down the Blank Canyon river.
This amazing kayaking experience in Black Canyon. The lower Colorado River is moving flatwater with no rapids - just beautiful green waters. It is perfect for beginner and seasoned paddlers alike

Pre-meetings
Meet at Mr Marohns house for a review of travel, equipment, river requirements and meal planning.
Travel:
we will be traveling separately and meeting at the designated gathering location
Meeting Place & Time:
Feb 22 at 8am, Hoover Dam Lodge - paddlecraft area
Return Place & Time
We will end the trip at Willow Beach. at 1pm the shuttle will pickup rental gear and bring anyone that needs to get back and pickup their vehicle.

Prerequisite:
each scout must be current on their swim qualifications. At least 1 leader must be Safety Afloat trained.
What to Bring
- ID for security checkpoint for all guests 18 and older (Very important - You will NOT be allowed to launch without ID)
- Wag bags or human waste disposal system (please see below for regulation information)
- Dry bag (Rentals $5, reserve in advance)
- Extra rope for tying boats
- Quick dry clothing
- River sandals or water shoes - NO flip flops
- Swimsuit (wear under clothes)
- Towel (optional)
- Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm
- Wristwatch to tell time (not a cell phone)
- Food and water (1 gal/person/day)
- Kitchen & Cooking Equipment
- Stove/Grill/Matches (see NPS website for fire restrictions)
- Tents/Sleeping Bag/Pad
- Toilet Supplies
- Personal Hygiene Kit
- Garbage Bags
- Firewood (check restrictions)
- Camera with batteries
- Cash for souvenirs or tips (no ATM available)
In Winter Months:
- Base Layer top & bottom (Polypro, wool, or synthetic - not cotton!)
- Insulating Layer Fleece (for warmth - not cotton!)
- Outer Layer Jacket to block rain/wind
- Jacket to block rain or wind
- Beanie/hat for cool evenings
- Gloves
- Wool Socks
- Scout Book
Meals
Due to limited storage we will be doing a family meals were the scouts will assist in prep, cooking and clean up.
